Copiii Purpuriului (engl. Children of the Magenta) este un termen utilizat pentru a descrie acei piloti care depind mult prea mult de automatizare, in loc sa acorde mai multa incredere propriilor abilitati atunci cand piloteaza o aeronava.
Acest video de 25 min. din anul 1997, inregistrat la un seminar de instruire al American Airlines Flight Academy, unde a luat nastere termenul „Children of the Magenta” – datorita culorii bug-ului sau icon-ului de la Flight Director – analizeaza un concept esential pentru piloti: acela al reducerii dependentei de automatizare.
